FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

No. UNI Air publishes no online prepaid extra-baggage product; excess weight over the free allowance is weighed and charged at the airport check-in counter according to the per-route cargo rate table.

Where do I pay for extra baggage?

Pay the excess-weight fee at the airport check-in counter on the day of departure. For bicycles, surfboards, pets or other special items, notify the customer service center of weight and dimensions when booking so space can be arranged.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

Each kilogram above the 10 kg free allowance is charged at the route's cargo per-kg rate (NTD 11-18/kg depending on route; currency: New Taiwan Dollar). The counter weighs all checked bags together and multiplies the excess kilos by the rate.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

The airline publishes no maximum number of checked pieces; each piece must not exceed 30 kg (66 lb) and 277 cm total dimensions, and must fit cargo-door limits (ATR 72-600: 130 cm wide x 157 cm high; A321: 182 cm wide x 123 cm high). Pieces of 31-45 kg need airline approval; pieces over 45 kg are refused.

When is the deadline to arrange extra or special baggage?

Excess fees are settled at the check-in counter with no advance-purchase window. Special items need advance notice: pets at least 1 day before departure, bicycles and surfboards at the time of booking.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Overweight and oversized amounts are airport-assessed fees, not online-purchasable products. Single pieces over 30 kg up to 45 kg are accepted only with airline approval; over 45 kg or over 277 cm total dimensions are refused. Surfboards are allowed up to 190 cm long.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

Passengers on the same ticket connecting from EVA Air / UNI Air international flights (BR/B7 flight numbers) keep the international ticket's baggage allowance on the domestic leg. Passengers connecting from other airlines keep the international allowance only for same-city transfers within 24 hours on one ticket; separate tickets require international travel within 7 days and proof of the international ticket at the counter.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

A321 flights accept no pets because the hold has no air conditioning. Each flight carries at most 2 pet crates, so pet requests must be made at least 1 day before departure with a printed live-animal declaration. Cats and dogs entering/exiting Kinmen and Matsu need a pet registration certificate with microchip plus a rabies vaccination certificate given 7 days to 1 year earlier.
