Accepted Answer

NOVOAIR uses a weight-based system: a flat rate per additional kilogram, with separate domestic and Dhaka-Kolkata international rates. There are no published zones, weight bands, or seasonal variations.

Checked baggage is limited to 20 kg in a maximum of 2 pieces per adult or child (10 kg for infants). Cabin baggage is limited to 7 kg in 1 piece. Checked bags must fit within 60 cm x 100 cm x 40 cm; cabin bags within 22 cm x 35 cm x 15 cm. Surfboards and kayaks over 3 meters long are not accepted as baggage and must go via cargo.

Pets are not accepted on NOVOAIR flights. Passengers dependent on a portable dialysis machine may carry the machine plus ancillary equipment in addition to the normal free allowance. Cremated human remains are accepted only as checked baggage with a death certificate, in a sealed outer box or case. Larger musical instruments (over 115 cm) can only travel in the cabin on a paid extra seat.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Sports and special items (bicycles, ski, golf, surf, scuba, fishing equipment) travel free when they fit inside the normal 20 kg allowance; otherwise normal per-kg excess rates apply. Golf has its own rule: one set over the free allowance is charged 50% of the applicable tariff (piece concept), or a maximum of 6 kg under the weight concept for a set up to 15 kg. Musical instruments packed as checked baggage attract normal excess charges.
