Steps
- Go to biman-airlines.com and open the homepage 'Manage Booking' section (also reachable via the 'Modify Trip' link).
- Enter your PNR / Reservation Code and your Last Name (surname) exactly as on the ticket, then click Search.
- Select the 'Add Extra Baggage' option from the manage booking tabs (listed alongside Change Journey Date, Select Your Seat and Update Baggage Info).
- Choose the prepaid baggage package for your route (10 kg or 20 kg packages per the Excess & Prepaid Baggage rate document) and complete the payment.
- You receive a payment confirmation and the prepaid allowance is added to your booking.

Flat-rate prepaid packages (about 10 kg, sub-code 0CZ, and 20 kg, sub-code 0JH; 15/23 kg on some sectors) per route, from the Excess & Prepaid Baggage rate document dated 30 April 2026. Route labels use BD for Bangladesh and IATA codes for city pairs (DXB Dubai, AUH/SHJ/CGP/CXB airports, KWI Kuwait, KSA Saudi Arabia, DOH Doha, CAN Guangzhou, KHI Karachi, DEL Delhi, SIN Singapore, KUL Kuala Lumpur, MCT Muscat, GB United Kingdom, JP Japan, IT Italy).

Flat overweight fee on USA/Canada routes only; other routes charge excess weight per kg at the airport rate.

Most routes use weight-based pricing: flat prepaid packages in 10/20 kg units (15/23 kg on some sectors) per route, or per-kg excess rates at the airport that differ by route and direction. USA/Canada routes use piece-based pricing: 2 free pieces per class, then USD 250 per extra piece from Bangladesh (USD 280 from other countries; USD 300 from the 3rd piece onward), plus USD 100 overweight/oversized fees.
Is it cheaper to buy prepaid baggage than to pay at the airport?
Usually yes. Prepaid packages are flat per-package rates (e.g. BD-Dubai 10 kg USD 70), while airport excess is per kg (e.g. BD-Dubai USD 16/kg, so 10 kg would cost USD 160 at the airport). On some sectors only one of the two schemes is published - check the Excess & Prepaid Baggage rate document.
What are the free baggage allowances on Biman?
Weight concept (most routes): Economy 20 kg within max 2 pieces (max 25 kg per piece), Business 30 kg within max 2 pieces (max 32 kg per piece), infants 10 kg in 1 piece; exact allowances vary by sector and fare class - use the sector-wise allowance finder. Piece concept (USA/Canada): Economy 2 x 23 kg, Business/Premium Economy 2 x 32 kg, 158 cm per piece. Cabin baggage: 7 kg in 1 piece (Economy), 10 kg in 2 pieces (Business), max 56x36x23 cm. Maximum permissible excess baggage is 100 kg limited to 5 pieces per passenger.
What are the overweight and oversized baggage rules?
On USA/Canada routes an overweight bag (23-32 kg) or oversized bag (158-292 cm) costs USD 100 per direction; if a bag is both, the fee is charged only once; Business and Premium Economy are exempt from the overweight fee; no bag over 32 kg is accepted. On other routes per-piece limits are 25 kg (Economy) and 32 kg (Business) with 158 cm dimensions, and any weight above the free allowance is charged per kg.
Are there exceptions to the baggage rules?
Special Fare Class (G) gets 20-23 kg checked allowance depending on sector; Special Fare Class (S) gets no checked baggage allowance at all. Biman Loyalty Club members get extra free allowance (Silver +10 kg, Gold +20 kg, 1 piece) regardless of class of service.
