Steps
- Open British Airways Manage My Booking / Find my booking.
- Enter your 6-character booking reference and the passenger last name exactly as shown on the booking.
- Open the booking and go to the baggage options or extra services section.
- Review the number of extra checked bags available for your itinerary and select the bags you want to add.
- Pay online by card, Avios, or a combination of both if the booking is eligible.
- Save the updated booking confirmation before check-in.

Notes
- 📦 Limits: Up to 10 extra bags per passenger, but only for personal-use items; commercial items should go via IAG Cargo.
- 📦 Limits: No checked bag may weigh more than 32kg; bags between 23kg and 32kg can incur the heavy bag charge.
- 📦 Limits: Oversized checked bags may be accepted up to 190 x 75 x 65 cm.
- 📏 Billing: Economy Basic (hand baggage only) fares are charged extra for any bag placed in the hold.
- ⏰ Timing: BA advises adding extra bags online in Manage My Booking before check-in for the best price.
- ⏰ Timing: After check-in, extra bags can only be added and paid for at the airport, and Avios cannot be used.
- ⏰ Timing: For oversized bags, notify BA at booking or at least 48 hours before departure.
- 🔗 Interline: Partner-airline or codeshare itineraries can have different checked-bag allowances and servicing rules.
