Free checked and carry-on baggage allowances by cabin class and route. Allowances vary by route, ticket type, and frequent flyer status — always confirm with the official baggage policy before you fly.

No free checked baggage on Basic fare — checked bags are paid add-ons (10/20/26/32 kg options, max 6 per passenger). 20 kg bag included free with WIZZ Go and 32 kg bag included free with WIZZ Plus bundles.

WIZZ Family Go is the same bundle with greater discounts when travelling with children or infants.

One small under-seat carry-on bag free for all passengers; one additional trolley bag free only with WIZZ Priority (standalone or via WIZZ Plus / WIZZ Smart bundles); infants on lap receive one additional free personal item.

Select your booking from My Bookings.

High season: Easter (21 Mar–20 Apr), Summer (12 Jun–30 Sep), Christmas (15 Dec–10 Jan). Exact price within range depends on route, travel dates, and channel.

Yes. Add checked baggage via your WIZZ Account on wizzair.com or the WIZZ Mobile app. Only the same weight type as an existing checked bag can be added.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

When should I buy extra baggage?

During initial booking for the best price. Adding baggage to an existing booking costs more than at-booking but less than airport purchase. Airport is the most expensive option.

How many checked bags can I buy?

Maximum 6 checked bags per passenger. First 3 can be purchased online; additional 3 at airport only. Max dimensions 149x119x171 cm, max weight 32 kg per bag. The 10 kg option is limited to 1 bag per passenger.

How does Wizz Air baggage pricing work?

Wizz Air publishes price ranges per weight tier (10/20/26/32 kg) and season (low/high) on its official fee table. The exact price within each range depends on the specific route and travel dates. Is it cheaper to buy baggage online or at the airport?

Yes, online purchase (during booking or after) is significantly cheaper than airport purchase. The only published airport price is 20 kg at €70.00–€80.00 per bag, compared to €20.00–€122.00 online. Handling agents may also charge an additional fee for airport purchases.

What happens if my bag exceeds the weight limit?

A per-kg surcharge of €13.00–€15.00 per kg applies at the airport when bag weight falls between 10–20 kg or 20–32 kg tiers. Maximum allowed weight per bag is 32 kg.

Can I get a refund or change prepaid baggage?

WIZZ Priority is non-refundable. Prepaid checked baggage is generally non-refundable on voluntary cancellation. If the airline cancels the flight, baggage fees are refunded as part of the booking refund. For name changes, baggage cannot be transferred to another passenger — contact the Call Centre.

What payment methods are accepted for baggage?

Card-only payment at certain airports: BVA, CGN, GNB, HAU, MMX, MXP, PSA, SVG, TRD, TRF. Online payment by card. Card processing fee of 0.20–2.35% may apply.

Are there any important exceptions?

When adding to an existing booking that already has a checked bag, only the same weight type can be added. 10 kg bag limited to 1 per passenger. Sports equipment must be added at least 3 hours before departure. High season: Easter (21 Mar–20 Apr), Summer (12 Jun–30 Sep), Christmas (15 Dec–10 Jan).
