FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Extra baggage can be added during booking on Wingo.com, afterwards in Mi Reserva, during web check-in (72 to 3 hours before departure), or at the airport counter on the day of the flight.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Add it during the booking flow on Wingo.com, in Mi Reserva with your booking code and last name, during web check-in, or at the airport counter before entering the boarding lounge.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?

Add baggage any time from booking until web check-in closes 3 hours before departure; after online check-in, extra bags can only be added at the airport on the day of the flight. Airport counters accept checked bags 3 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic flights.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

There are no public fixed prices. Fares vary by purchase channel, route and how far in advance of the flight you buy; per-passenger, per-leg rates are shown during the booking flow or in Mi Reserva, and the applicable fare is the one published at the time of purchase.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. Optional services cost more at the airport; buying on the website before the flight saves money, and sports/musical equipment bought online can cost up to 50% less than at the airport.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

Each passenger may carry 1 personal item (40x35x25 cm), 1 cabin bag of up to 12 kg (55x45x25 cm), and up to 3 checked bags of up to 23 kg and 158 linear cm each. Infants under 2 have no checked baggage allowance.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Bags over 23 kg incur a charge per additional kilogram, up to an absolute maximum of 32 kg per bag, verified at the airport. Oversized sports/musical equipment in the hold is accepted up to 32 kg and 319 linear cm.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Prepaid baggage and optional services are not refundable, even if unused, and are not transferable to other passengers or exchangeable for other services.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

Special conditions apply on routes to/from Mexico and Venezuela (up to 25 kg ex-Cancun; separate policy pages). Sports/musical equipment in the hold is not available on flights to/from Havana, and the 3rd checked bag may be restricted on some destinations and sold only at the airport.
