Prepaid product: 5/10/15/20/25/30 kg per purchase, single piece still max 50 kg and 100 x 60 x 40 cm. Each passenger may check at most free allowance plus member benefit plus six extra-paid pieces (ordinary, special and prepaid combined); the 7th and further extra-paid pieces must travel as cargo with no same-flight guarantee.

Domestic overweight: 1.5% of the economy fare per excess kg. International overweight-only within piece count: CNY 210 / USD 30 (23-28 kg) and CNY 520 / USD 75 (28-32 kg). Oversize-only (158-203 cm): CNY 520 / USD 75; overweight plus oversize: CNY 830 / USD 120. Pieces exceeding 32 kg or the size limits must travel as cargo.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

The prepaid product applies only to tickets starting with 088 on Tibet Airlines-operated (TV) flights; through/transit tickets are excluded. On codeshare flights the free allowance follows the operating carrier's rules, and prepaid credit cannot be used on other carriers after endorsement.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Before departure with check-in not completed, unused prepaid baggage is fully refundable through the original channel; after check-in it is non-refundable. After departure with an unused ticket, refund is possible after the ticket refund. Refunds must be whole-package (e.g. a 10 kg pack cannot be partially refunded) within 12 months of purchase. The product cannot be endorsed or date-changed with the ticket; refund first, then rebook.

Prepaid purchase is currently supported only for departures from Chengdu and Lhasa, adult and child passengers only (no infants), and excess beyond free + prepaid allowance is settled at airport counter rates.
