  2. Enter the passenger surname, given name, ID document type and number, origin, destination, and flight date, then look up the ticketed booking (479 ticket on a Shenzhen Airlines-operated flight).
  3. Choose a prepaid option: a 5-45 kg weight package for domestic routes or 1-6 standard-size pieces for international routes, and complete payment (one piece or package per order; repeat for more).
  4. Save the confirmation SMS and locate the order record (App: Me > All orders > Extra baggage; domestic site: Booking > Order management > Extra baggage orders; international site: prepaid baggage record query).

Domestic routes: prepaid weight packages of 5/10/15/20/25/30/35/40/45 kg per passenger per journey. Every checked piece must weigh 2-32 kg and measure 60-203 cm in total dimensions; heavier bags must be split or shipped as cargo. A 7th or later paid piece requires advance approval from the Shenzhen Airlines sales department or station and may not travel on the same flight.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Overweight (23-32 kg) and/or oversized (158-203 cm) international pieces incur per-piece overweight/oversized charges on top of any additional-piece charge (Zone 1: CNY 280-1,100; Zone 2: CNY 210-830 depending on tier). These overweight/oversized fees are charged per the excess schedule and are not separate online-purchasable products; the online product covers additional weight (domestic) or additional standard-size pieces (international). Checked small animals (pet dogs/cats only) are charged as excess baggage at 1.5% of the full economy fare per kilogram including container and food, applied for via ticket offices or hotline 95361.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

Only tickets starting with 479 on flights actually operated by Shenzhen Airlines qualify; connecting itineraries and interline or codeshare flights are excluded, as are routes originating in Xi'an (subject to live availability check). Codeshare and interline free allowances follow GDS automatic calculation instead.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Unused prepaid extra baggage is refundable through the original purchase channel with no service fee. Changes and carrier transfers are not permitted: cancel for a refund first, then rebook for the new itinerary. International pieces are refunded per piece from the highest-priced piece downward; domestic weight packages must be refunded in full, not partially. If actual checked weight is below the prepaid amount, no refund is given for the difference.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

The product is not available for infant passengers. One order covers a single piece or weight package only, so repeat the booking for multiple pieces. A confirmation SMS is sent after purchase; show the order record at the counter to avoid double charging. Invoices can be issued within 30 days after the flight via the App or mini program e-invoice module, or by calling 95361.
