How to Add Extra Baggage & Prices on Citilink

Buy Baggage
  1. Go to citilink.co.id and open 'Pemesanan Saya' (Manage My Booking) from the homepage menu, or go directly to book.citilink.co.id.
  2. Enter your 6-digit booking code (PNR) and the passenger's last name, then click 'Find Booking'.
  3. Select the baggage option and choose the Pre-Book Baggage package for your flight (5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg, 30 kg, or 40 kg).
  4. Complete the payment online — Pre-Book Baggage must be purchased at least 4 hours before departure.
  5. Check your ticket and boarding pass for the SSR code that confirms your pre-booked baggage package.

Weight-based Pre-Book Baggage packages (5/10/20/30/40 kg) at route-specific prices, bought online in advance (up to 4 hours before departure). Prices include VAT (PPN). The examples below cover the published domestic range and all international routes; the full per-route table is on citilink.co.id/excess-baggage. International route rates are quoted in IDR and follow the daily exchange rate.

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Pre-Book Baggage packages (5, 10, 20, 30 or 40 kg) can be purchased on citilink.co.id through Manage My Booking, using your 6-digit booking code and last name, or during the initial booking flow.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Buy Pre-Book Baggage on the Citilink website (Manage My Booking / booking flow) or in the Citilink mobile app. Excess baggage can also be paid for at the airport check-in counter at a higher per-kg rate.

When is the deadline to buy Pre-Book Baggage online?

Pre-Book Baggage must be purchased at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time. Each passenger can buy each package size only once.

How does Citilink calculate extra baggage charges?

Citilink uses a weight-based system. Online you pre-book a package (5/10/20/30/40 kg) at a route-specific price. Without pre-booking, excess kg is charged at the per-kg Excess Baggage Tariff (EBT) at the check-in counter. All rates are calculated per route based on flight time and vary from IDR 70,000/kg to IDR 234,000/kg on domestic routes.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. Pre-booked packages cost less per kg than the airport counter rate. For example, on CGK-SOC the 5 kg package is IDR 280,000 (effective IDR 56,000/kg) versus IDR 70,000/kg at the counter; on CGK-AMQ the 5 kg package is IDR 780,000 versus IDR 234,000/kg at the counter.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

You can pre-book one package per passenger per flight (5, 10, 20, 30 or 40 kg). Each checked piece must not exceed 32 kg and 81 cm (H) x 119 cm (W). Free allowance: domestic A320 15 kg + 7 kg cabin (LinkMiles members buying via direct channel get 20 kg), domestic ATR 10 kg; international routes include 7 kg cabin only, except DIL and POM which get 20 kg checked.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Any kg over your allowance or pre-booked package is charged at the route's per-kg Excess Baggage Tariff at the airport. Sports equipment within stated dimensions goes into your checked allowance. Cabin baggage over 7 kg is re-classified as checked baggage for IDR 350,000 per piece (domestic) or USD 22/SGD 28/MYR 89/THB 642 per piece (international).

Can I get a refund for pre-booked baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

No. Baggage products (Pre-Book Baggage, Excess Baggage, Sport Baggage, Security Items) are non-refundable for voluntary cancellations. If you voluntarily reschedule, the package is automatically transferred to the new flight unless the change happens within 4 hours of departure.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions?

International routes to DIL (Dili) and POM (Port Moresby) include a 20 kg free checked allowance. ATR aircraft give a 10 kg free allowance. For domestic-international connecting flights in one PNR, the free allowance follows the largest allowance when booked via Citilink's direct channel and the smallest when booked via sales partners.

How can I pay for extra baggage?

Payments are accepted via ATM, retail channels (Alfamart & Indomaret), internet/mobile banking, electronic money, credit cards, or customer service at the airport.
