  1. Go to flycua.com, the China United mobile app, m.flycua.com, or the official WeChat account, and log in (online baggage purchase requires login).
  2. Open My Trips / Order Center, retrieve your booking, and choose the extra-baggage product.
  3. Complete payment; for online purchases an electronic invoice can be issued online or claimed via customer service hotline 400-102-6666.
  4. For a second or further extra bag, any piece over 23 kg, or special baggage, pay at the airport check-in counter before the flight cutoff.

Yes. One extra checked bag (up to 23 kg, max 40 × 60 × 100 cm) can be bought online at a discounted price. A second or further extra bag, any single piece over 23 kg, and special baggage can only be bought at the airport counter.

All other paid baggage is sold at the airport check-in counter, except seat-occupying baggage which is booked via the hotline.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?

Online extra baggage can be bought until 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Airport-counter baggage is sold until the flight load-control cutoff.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

Domestic flights use a piece-based system: a flat fee per extra piece (CNY 90) plus a per-piece overweight service fee (CNY 60) when a single piece weighs 23-50 kg. International flights also use the piece system with a per-piece extra-bag fee and a per-piece overweight fee; when a bag is both extra and overweight, both fees are charged together.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. Only one extra bag per passenger can be bought online and it is sold at a discounted price versus the airport counter. On international routes the online price is 30% off the counter rate; on domestic routes the online price is the discounted amount shown at checkout.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

Each checked piece must not exceed 40 × 60 × 100 cm. Domestic single pieces must not exceed 50 kg. International single pieces must not exceed 32 kg, and each passenger may check at most 4 pieces in total including free allowance.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

A domestic single piece weighing more than 23 kg up to 50 kg incurs an additional CNY 60 overweight service fee per piece on top of any extra-piece fee, airport counter only. An international single piece weighing more than 23 kg up to 32 kg incurs a CNY 200 overweight fee per piece, airport counter only; overweight and extra-piece fees accumulate.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Unused prepaid baggage can be refunded through the original purchase channel. If the ticket is refunded, baggage bought together with the ticket on a China United direct platform is refunded automatically with the ticket; separately purchased baggage must be refunded in its original purchase channel. After online check-in, paid baggage cannot be refunded unless online check-in is cancelled first. Airport-counter baggage is refunded at the original counter channel.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

Discount domestic fares (including T/I/Z/U/P/G/Q/B/A) follow their own product baggage rules and may include no free checked allowance. On Southeast Asia international routes T/I/Z fares include no free checked baggage. Business-class J passengers get one free checked special-baggage piece (except seat-occupying baggage) on domestic routes.
