How does Air Serbia calculate extra baggage charges?

Air Serbia uses a piece-based system. Charges depend on the route zone, fare brand (Economy LIGHT vs other brands), purchase timing (advance, online check-in, airport), and whether the bag is Standard (23kg/158cm) or XL (32kg/203cm). How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

You can purchase up to 5 additional checked bags beyond your free allowance. Each standard checked bag must not exceed 23 kg and 158 cm total dimensions (or 32 kg and 203 cm for XL fare brands). Bags over 32 kg or 203 cm cannot be accepted as standard checked baggage and require special approval.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Baggage weighing 23–32 kg or measuring 158–203 cm total dimensions is subject to excess fees assessed at the airport. Fees are route-dependent: 50 EUR for most European/Balkan routes, up to 150 EUR for other markets. Bags exceeding 32 kg or 203 cm cannot be accepted, except for musical instruments, sports equipment, or wheelchairs with prior Air Serbia approval. Overweight and oversized fees are summed separately if both limits are exceeded.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

Yes. If your itinerary includes interline or codeshare flights, additional baggage can only be booked at the airport. The rules of the operating carrier may apply instead of Air Serbia's policy.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Baggage fees are non-refundable in cases of voluntary cancellation, no-show, if you decide not to take any baggage, or if you voluntarily rebook to a different flight/destination where the purchased baggage is not transferable.
