Enter your reservation code, last name, and middle and given name as shown on the ticket, then click Continue.
Select your flight segment and choose the baggage weight package you need (20-70 kg, or 20/30 kg oversized).
Complete payment online; the baggage allowance is added to your booking and shown in your itinerary.

Weight-based packages (20-100 kg) per passenger per sector in VND excluding VAT (domestic flights add 8% VAT). Lowest rate when purchased during booking or within 24 hours after; higher rate from 24 hours after booking until 3 hours before departure; highest at the airport.

Oversized checked pieces (up to 200 x 119 x 81 cm, max 32 kg per piece) can be pre-booked online as 20 kg or 30 kg packages that include the handling fee. When is the best time to buy extra baggage?

Cheapest during booking or within 24 hours after booking. From 24 hours after booking until 3 hours before departure prices increase, and at the airport (within 3 hours of departure) they are highest.

How does Vietjet calculate extra baggage charges?

Checked baggage is sold as weight packages (20-100 kg) per passenger per sector in VND excluding VAT (8% on domestic, 0% on international flights). Prices depend on the route group: Domestic, South East Asia, Hong Kong/Taiwan/China, Japan/Korea/South Asia, Australia/Kazakhstan, or Europe.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes, pre-booking is cheaper. Example: a domestic 20 kg package is VND 200,000-250,000 online but a 15 kg package at the airport costs VND 300,000. Overweight per-kg fees (from VND 40,000 domestic to VND 960,000 Europe) are only charged at the airport.

What are the baggage limits?

Each checked piece must not exceed 32 kg and 119 x 119 x 81 cm; oversized pieces up to 200 x 119 x 81 cm are allowed (max 2 per passenger per sector). Carry-on allowance is 7 kg total: one main bag 56 x 36 x 23 cm plus one small personal item. No piece over 32 kg is accepted.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Overweight baggage is charged per extra kilogram at the airport only, after the checked baggage package is purchased. Oversized baggage can be pre-booked online as 20/30 kg packages (1 oversized piece per sector), or paid at the airport as a service fee of VND 300,000 domestic / VND 600,000 international.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions?

Eco fares include no checked baggage; Deluxe includes 20 kg, Skyboss 30 kg plus 1 golf set, and Business 40-60 kg by route group. Pre-booked baggage on Japan/Korea sectors is limited to 40 kg, and Con Dao routes use a separate 7 kg package.

Can I pay for extra baggage with cards?

Yes, card and other standard online payment methods are accepted. A convenience service charge applies to the first payment of any booking regardless of payment method (e.g., VND 100,000 or USD 5, varying by currency; higher on Australia/Kazakhstan and Europe routes).
