Free checked and carry-on baggage allowances by cabin class and route. Allowances vary by route, ticket type, and frequent flyer status — always confirm with the official baggage policy before you fly.

Checked baggage

Economy cabin has three fare families: LITE includes no free checked bag; STANDARD and FLEX each include 1 × 23 kg on all short/medium- and long-haul routes. Flights originating in Bolivia to Madrid/Barcelona include 2 × 23 kg both directions even in Economy.

Buy Baggage

Go to aireuropa.com and open 'Gestiona tu reserva' (Manage Booking) — the 'Mis viajes' (My Trips) section — or log in to your Air Europa Suma account.
Enter your booking locator and the passenger surname as it appears in the reservation, then click Search.
Open your booking, choose 'Añadir equipaje extra' (Add extra baggage), select the passenger, route and number of extra bags, and review the price shown for your route.
Complete payment online; the extra baggage is added to your itinerary and you receive a confirmation email.

Prices

Air Europa prices extra checked bags per piece with no flat public price list; exact amounts are route- and date-dependent and are shown in the official baggage calculator on the checked-baggage page and in the booking flow after retrieving the reservation.

Yes. Extra checked bags can be added online at aireuropa.com via 'Mis viajes' (My Trips / Manage Booking) after retrieving your reservation, or during initial booking; the call center and airport offices also sell extra baggage.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Online via 'Mis viajes' (My Trips) on aireuropa.com, by calling the Air Europa call center (+34 911 401 501), or at airport offices. The 23 kg to 32 kg weight upgrade is only sold by the call center or at the airport.

How does Air Europa calculate extra baggage charges?

Charges are per piece and depend on the route, fare type and number of extra bags. Air Europa does not publish a flat public price list; the baggage calculator on the checked-baggage page and the booking flow show the exact amount for your route.

How many extra bags can I take, and what are the bag limits?

Maximum 10 checked pieces per passenger including your fare allowance (exception: Madrid–La Habana allows at most 1 extra bag). Each bag: max 23 kg (32 kg in Business) and 158 cm total dimensions. Hand luggage: 10 kg, 55x35x25 cm (Business: 2 pieces up to 14 kg total) plus one personal item of 40x30x15 cm.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

The 23 kg to 32 kg weight upgrade costs an extra charge and is only available via the call center or at the airport; no bag over 32 kg is accepted. Any piece over 158 cm total dimensions is charged as special baggage in the hold with fixed tariffs from EUR 150 to EUR 250 depending on route zone, or can be sent as cargo.

When is the best time to buy extra baggage?

Buy online in advance: the route baggage calculator shows a lower 'advance' (anticipado) price and a higher '2 days before' (2 días antes) price for the same extra bag.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. Air Europa states that contracting extra baggage online includes a discount, and the route calculator shows a higher price from 2 days before departure.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

Yes. Extra-baggage purchase is only available on flights operated by Air Europa; on codeshare flights operated by partner airlines the partner's baggage allowance applies, so check the allowance in your reservation.

Can I get a refund for prepaid extra baggage?

No. The extra baggage service is non-refundable — the official checked-baggage page states 'Servicio no reembolsable'.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions?

Madrid–La Habana (including connecting flights): maximum 1 extra bag per passenger. Premium class is only sold on flights to/from Madrid. Resident and large-family (Familia Numerosa) discounts apply on certain routes, and baggage rules apply per segment (trayecto).
