  3. Hand over the bags exceeding the free allowance so staff can weigh and measure them and calculate the excess fee from the official table.
  4. Pay the excess baggage fee at the counter and keep the baggage claim ticket until you collect your bags at your destination.

FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

No. AIRDO publishes no online pre-purchase channel for excess baggage; excess fees are assessed and paid at the airport baggage counter on the day of departure.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Pay at the AIRDO baggage counter, an automated baggage check-in machine (Haneda, New Chitose and Fukuoka only) or the baggage tag issuing machine (Chubu only). Staff weigh and measure your bags and collect the fee on the spot.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage?

Check in baggage before the airport deadline — at Haneda the deadline is 30 minutes before departure (effective September 1, 2026). Oversized processing can take time, so arrive early.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

Each excess condition is charged separately per piece: JPY 1,100 for 23-32 kg, JPY 5,500 for over 32-45 kg, JPY 5,500 per piece beyond the free piece count, and JPY 5,500 per oversized piece. A previous weight-based table (JPY 2,500/3,500/4,500 by 10 kg bands over a 20 kg allowance) applied only to boarding until May 18, 2026.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

Up to 20 checked pieces per person (from June 11, 2026 boarding), up to 45 kg and 292 cm total dimensions per piece, and up to 100 kg total. Bags over 292 cm total cannot be accepted. Carry-on is limited to 1 bag plus 1 personal item within 10 kg total.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Overweight (23-32 kg: JPY 1,100; over 32-45 kg: JPY 5,500) and oversize (over allowance up to 292 cm: JPY 5,500) are fee rules applied at the airport counter; they are not separate online-purchasable products.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

For connections from domestic ANA, Solaseed Air or StarFlyer flights meeting the required connection times, baggage can be checked through for up to three routes — tell staff at the first check-in. Baggage over 203 cm total on the former rules required advance contact with the Reservation and Information Center.
