FAQ
Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?
Yes. After booking, go to the 'Add Baggage' page on the Air Arabia website, enter your PNR and last name, and select your preferred baggage weight option. You can also purchase baggage during the initial booking process.
Where do I buy extra baggage?
You can purchase extra baggage through: (1) The Air Arabia website via Manage Booking or the Add Baggage page, (2) The Air Arabia mobile app, (3) Air Arabia call centres, and (4) Air Arabia sales offices and authorised travel partners.
When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?
Baggage can be purchased online during initial booking or after booking through the Add Baggage page before your flight departs. For the exact cut-off time, check the Add Baggage page after entering your booking details.
How does Air Arabia calculate extra baggage charges?
Air Arabia uses weight-based pricing. You can select one of three total weight options: 20 kg, 30 kg, or 40 kg. The 20 kg option is limited to 1 piece, while 30 kg and 40 kg can be split into a maximum of 2 pieces. Each bag must not exceed 32 kg and 158 cm total dimensions. Actual prices vary by route and are shown when you enter your booking details on the Add Baggage page.
Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?
Yes. Pre-booking checked baggage online can save you up to 90% compared to purchasing at the airport. Only limited weight options may be available at the airport, and prices are typically significantly higher.
How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?
You can pre-book checked baggage in three total weight options: 20 kg (max 1 piece), 30 kg (max 2 pieces), or 40 kg (max 2 pieces). Each individual bag must not exceed 32 kg and 158 cm (L+W+H). If your allowance is split into two bags, each bag must not exceed 32 kg.
What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?
Each checked bag must not exceed 32 kg (absolute limit) and 158 cm (L+W+H). Bags at or under these limits but exceeding your prepaid per-piece allowance incur overweight charges at the airport. TVs 40 inches and above incur a charge of AED 150 plus a handling fee, with a maximum allowed TV size of 60 inches. Irregular-shaped baggage that cannot be safely transported may not be accepted.
Can I pay for extra baggage with cards or other methods?
Standard payment methods accepted on the Air Arabia website include credit/debit cards. For specific payment method options, refer to the payment page at checkout.
Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?
Carton boxes are not allowed as checked baggage on flights to Bangladesh (effective August 1, 2023). Pre-booked baggage is available for Air Arabia-operated flights; contact the call centre for partner or codeshare flights.
